Secure Pay terms

How paying and being paid through Travel Nurse Houses works.

Paying through Travel Nurse Houses

When you pay through Travel Nurse Houses, your payment is collected by 1000619414 Ontario Corporation, operating as Zion Haven on behalf of your host. Travel Nurse Houses acts as your host's limited payment collection agent: paying us is the same, in law, as paying your host directly, and your host cannot ask you to pay the same amount again.

How the money reaches us. A card or bank payment is processed by Stripe into an account held by 1000619414 Ontario Corporation, operating as Zion Haven; it appears on your statement as TRAVELNURSEHOUSES.CA. An Interac e-Transfer goes to the address shown when you choose it. Either route discharges the rent, and 1000619414 Ontario Corporation, operating as Zion Haven is the party that holds the money until it is passed to your host.

Your rental agreement is between you and your host. Travel Nurse Houses is not a party to it, is not your landlord, and does not own or manage the property.

Every month of your stay. You can pay each month through Travel Nurse Houses, not only the first: the first before you move in, each later month from 14 days before it starts.

Paying when you request. If you add a card when you request a home, we place a hold for the first payment and do not charge it. It is charged only if the host accepts, and that confirms your stay. If the host declines or does not answer within 48 hours, or you cancel the request, the hold is released; your bank decides how quickly it leaves your statement.

Instant Book. Where a host has turned on Instant Book and your request meets their rule, it is accepted the moment you send it, and you pay to confirm your stay within the time shown.

When your host receives it. We hold the first payment until 14 days after you move in, and each later month until 24 hours after it begins, then pass it to your host. Until then, if something is wrong — the property is not as described, or you cannot get in — use Report a problem and we will hold the money while we look into it.

If your contract is cancelled. If your assignment is cancelled during your stay, report it from your trip with the cancellation notice from your agency or a letter from the hospital; your agency can report it for you. Your stay then ends after the nights you have stayed plus 14 days' notice from the day you report it (or on your booked check-out, if that is sooner). Your host is paid rent up to that date, whatever we still hold beyond it is refunded to whoever paid, and no later months are charged.

Security deposit. Your deposit is passed to your host with the first payment. Your host holds it and returns it under the terms of your agreement with them. Travel Nurse Houses does not hold your deposit and does not decide whether it is returned.

Refunds. Before your host receives the money, we can refund you. If your host cancels, or you cancel before the listing's free-cancellation date, we refund whatever we still hold. After your host receives it, a refund is a matter between you and your host, and your agreement with them governs it.

Getting paid through Travel Nurse Houses

Guests and agencies who book your home on Travel Nurse Houses pay through Travel Nurse Houses. By listing your home, you appoint 1000619414 Ontario Corporation, operating as Zion Haven as your limited payment collection agent for those payments: we collect rent on your behalf, and a guest who pays us has paid you. You may not ask that guest to pay the same amount again, or ask them to pay you outside Travel Nurse Houses instead.

Who handles the money. Card and bank payments are processed by Stripe into an account held by 1000619414 Ontario Corporation, operating as Zion Haven, and Interac e-Transfers are received by it directly. Your appointment is of 1000619414 Ontario Corporation, operating as Zion Haven. Blueinc Technologies, Inc. operates the Travel Nurse Houses platform and does not hold your rent.

What we take. A fee of 3% of the rent (1.5% if you are on TNH Pro or Business), deducted from your payout. It is never charged on the cleaning fee, the security deposit or anything else we pass to you. Where Travel Nurse Houses is registered for GST/HST, the tax on that fee is shown on your statement.

Every month of the stay. Guests can pay each month through us, not only the first: the first before move-in, each later month from 14 days before it starts.

Payment with a request. A guest may put the first payment on a card when they request your home. The card is authorized, not charged. Accepting the request charges it and confirms the stay. If you decline, the request is cancelled, or it lapses after 48 hours without an answer, the authorization is released and nothing is collected.

Instant Book. If you turn on Instant Book for a listing, a request for open dates that meets the rule you chose — any guest, or only guests whose identity Travel Nurse Houses has verified — is accepted on your behalf the moment it is made, and binds you as if you had accepted it yourself. You can change the rule or turn it off at any time; it applies to requests made after the change.

When you receive it. The first payment 14 days after the guest moves in; each later month 24 hours after that month begins. We send it to you by Interac e-Transfer or to your connected account, whichever you set up, less our fee. Your bank then takes its usual time.

If the guest's contract is cancelled. Travel nurses' contracts are sometimes cancelled by the hospital or the agency. If that happens during the stay and the guest or their agency sends us the cancellation notice or a letter from the hospital, the stay ends after the nights stayed plus 14 days' notice from the day it is reported (or on the booked check-out, if that is sooner). You are paid rent up to that date; whatever we still hold beyond it is refunded to whoever paid, and no later months are charged. We tell you as soon as it is reported and again when it is confirmed.

If the guest reports a problem before that transfer, we hold the payment while we look into it. We may release it to you or refund the guest. We will tell you either way and you can put your side.

If a stay is cancelled. If you cancel, or the guest cancels before your listing's free-cancellation date, we refund the guest whatever we still hold. Any other cancellation, we hold the money and decide with you both whether it is refunded or paid to you. Money already paid to you is between you and the guest.

If you are paid through Stripe, connecting an account means agreeing to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement as well as these terms. You are responsible for the tax on your rental income; Travel Nurse Houses does not withhold or remit it for you.

Where we send it. Tell us where to send your money — an Interac e-Transfer address, or a connected Stripe account. If a guest pays before you have, we hold what we collect for you and send it as soon as you do; nothing is lost and nothing is charged for the wait. Stays that were paid to you directly before these terms took effect are not affected.
